Dear journal

Me and my wife have arrived in York to make sure that our colonies main fort was built.

When we arrived we had to face many challenges. First we needed shelter. For the first few months we had to stay in a canvas house. Another problem was that Sir Guy Chaleton, preferred Kingston to be the capital so he wouldn't provide any financial support. Then we had to convince the other members of our government to move to york because compared to Kingston and Newark, York was wilderness. Eventually we did overcome those challenges

purchase of york

Dear Journal

I have met with the Mississauga at the Bay of Quinte to talk about buying some land. They agreed to a sale of land along the north shore and both sides of the humber river.

Dear Journal

It has come to my attention that there were a few flaws in how we made our agreement. We forgot to write down how much land we bought. We re-negotiated the amount of land.

York is the capital

Dear journal

I the leader of the military unit called the Queen's Rangers got injured in battle today. I am going to be shiped to England.

Dear Journal

Today I have been married to Elizabeth Qwilin. She came from a wealthy family.

In my time Military positions went to people with wealth therefore promoting me as the first lieutenant governor of Upper Canada.

Dear Journal

I have went to the capital of Upper Canada and guess what I saw, the capital was close to the border between Canada and USA. I didf Not like that idea so i made York the capital.

Democracy

Official Report

Oh no! The citizens are beginning to ask for a democracy. I'm afraid of democracy because I had a problem with democracy before. It caused the American Revolution. It was so tragic I just cant forget about all of the tea that was destroyed at that time. I still owe something to my loyal subjets so I will make it so they have as little influence as possible.

Constitutional act

Dear journal

Today, They made the constitutional act of 1791. The act divided Quebec into 2 areas upper canada and Lower canada. Lower Canada still acted like Quebec from, the Quebec act while Upper Canada was like the rest of the british law. I find this act to be very beneficial because I can Finally own a piece of land

first nations

Mental note

I have travelled to Haudenosaunee to convince my fellow first nations to join the British Empire because I thought that Britain would honour our rights more than the united states would.

However when the British were negotiating peace with the United states They ignored us completly. We felt very betrayed so we made a petition for our land back. Luckily for us they Gave back some land to us.

sierra leone

Dear journal

I think that me and other black loyalists are being treated unfairly. I went to gather a petition and guess what happened. Those British rejected it I can't believe they would do that! So I travelled to England and handed in my petition to them. They also rejected it. But the good news is that I got the attention of the sierra leone company. The company was aparently trying to make freed slaves move to sierra leone, An african area. I was able to convince 1100 people to go sierra leone. I felt so great.
Ok journal good luck

black loyalists

Dear journal

I have arrived to Novia scotia to enjoy my promised freedom. It was not what i expected. The land was of terrible quality and required high maintenance. And also we got our supplies last. I understand because we were former slaves but we still deserve to have rights! We are having huge problems so we dcecided to work for other settlers for supplies. The wages were not much better than back when we were slaves. I hope things turn out better soon.

loyalist problems

Dear Journal

I have escaped from the 13 colonies and have now arrived in my new home. The king has not given us our land grant yet or our compensation for abandoning most of our possesions. After all his war and 13 colonies problem the king breaks his promise with giving us land. I hope that the king will eventually give us land.

a very concerned king

Official panic report

It has been demonstrated here that the 13 colonies are being huge annoyances. First they illegally assault our dedicated tax-collectors preventing them from collecting the ever so important money. I'm aware of how absurd the stamp act is but most of the british population were ok with it. Tragicly the 13 colonies ended the stamp act. I didnt really worry about it because it was only one act so i started giving out a tea tax.
it was very succesful but then those nasty blighters the 13 colonies, dumped out all the tea filled crates in the boston harbour. We nicknamed it the boston tea party.

I dont think the 13 colonies are ever going to be happy so i will have to prepare our supplies for war.

Good night and may the best be upon us

-The king

This is an OUTRAGE!!!

Dear Majesty,

It has come to our attention that Governor James Murray favour the filthy tea-hating french over us elegant well mannered British. In honour of appreciation those destined to be slaves french have gained more rights. We were the flesh and blood of BBritain and you let this insane man give brain-dead french equal rights?!
We will have none of this. We demand that you fire James Murray and replace him with a more reasonable governor.

That is all
